Florence Uffizi Wallpaper

Friday, July 4th, 2008

Dear blog’s friends… here we are with new images for your desktop.

It seems like a oil paint!

Well, this is an artistic view of Florence: Uffizi gallery and the Arno river from Ponte Vecchio.

Building of the palace was begun by Giorgio Vasari in 1560 for Cosimo I de’ Medici as the offices for the Florentine magistrates - hence the name “uffizi” (”offices”).

The cortile on Uffizi is so long and narrow, and open to the Arno River at its far end through a Doric screen that articulates the space without blocking it, that architectural historians treat it as the first regularized streetscape of Europe…

Try art on your desktop ;o)

Chianti Hills wallpaper

Today a little surprise from Chianti Hills… :)

A marvellous picture wallpaper showing a real ocean of wheat, typical landscape of this region of Tuscany. Area of viticulture since the time of the Etruscans, the hills of Chianti produce red wines that are the finest and most appreciated all over the world.

Along Via Chiantigiana, between Florence and Siena, you meet churches, castles, farms and dozens of tiny ancient villages, in a suggestive itinerary that allows you to discover all the charm of Tuscany countryside.
